I’m an anthropologist, sometimes I occupy things & such.

I see anarchism as something you do not an identity...

...so don’t call me the anarchist anthropologist

this was the first store I ever saw one of my books on display in the window (I came in & offered to sign them all in exchange for a donut and a cup of coffee but the guy just seemed confused.) https://t.co/6NbshT0oEn

I think am overworking myself. I was so exhausted, dizzy, sick that I fell asleep in my office & missed a major department event. Now I feel terrible. Apparently attempting to seem smart & personable for more than 12 hours in a row can actually knock you unconscious.

Personally I find the argument that octopuses are actually space aliens quite convincing https://t.co/5frieclLOS

Is your salary 100k or more? There’s a strong possibility you have a #bullshitjob. Also you have a lot of money. Why not buy 10-20 copies of my new book & give them to everyone you know?

I am in the Green Room at @BBCR4Today – their wireless doesn’t work but there’s a nice breakfast spread

.@thisishellradio interview on #bullshitjobs – I always have fun doing this one https://t.co/0WomUl43YP

haven’t heard me explain #bullshitjobs enough? Well I guess that’s possible. Here’s Penguin with a handy video. https://t.co/VdMIQ5F0dB

me and Karl, we’re moving in (Labor Economics best-sellers on Amazon today – and oddly, book isn’t even out yet). https://t.co/LWBmB29OmH

True to form it’s the workers with the (mainly) non-bullshit jobs that get purged https://t.co/ajBLiqbejC

I am tempted to write something about driving in Rojava. It really shows they haven’t created a state apparatus. No drivers’ licenses, speed limits, plates are optional. Traffic cops exist in towns but only as far as I can see to tell kids “hey you’re 12 stop driving that car!”

I find it fascinating that so many people aggressively insist it’s possible that a worker might feel a job is pointless, even though higher-ups understand it really fulfils a necessary function. What would be an example of this?

The Australian is running some very good extracts (didn’t even know that was going to happen!) https://t.co/dWKsRR9gdq

here’s how you know things are really starting to bite: an article by a PR consultant discussing whether his industry is really made up of bullshit jobs https://t.co/zyYMxaIKp3

Actually of course I’m an anthropologist. Predictably blames govt regulation but in fact #s of admin staff went up much quicker in private unis than public ones https://t.co/yc8EWjZ1Fl

Harpers extracts are out! About the history of time and a child’s first sense of having an effect on the world. https://t.co/bsRWfZWfuP

nice In These Times interview on BSJ. I used to write for them back in the day. https://t.co/ew8ytqN2UA

Whoa! Smoking gun! (this a comment on my chronicle piece) – anyone have more information on this topic? Is it sometimes true in the corporate world as well? https://t.co/UU2yNYQxRA
