I’m an anthropologist, sometimes I occupy things & such.

I see anarchism as something you do not an identity...

...so don’t call me the anarchist anthropologist

it reminds me a lot of the cops during direct actions in 2000, 2001… The reporters had to maintain good relations with the cops so they couldn’t just say “but wait that’s obviously not true.” So they’d just print whatever they said until we proved it wasn’t true.

if it wasn’t so outrageous it’d be fascinating to watch the Western press just blindly report whatever lies an obviously fascist government feeds them, just because it’s a government. https://t.co/RBrWA3JRek

here is a piece of a letter I got from someone whose parents are still living in Afrin, reporting back on conditions there. It’s simply extraordinary that no nation on earth has spoken against this https://t.co/qRjFpQego4

outrageous, but… what’s up with the persecution of Hawaiians? It seems the most disproportionate on the chart https://t.co/7xbWhSiHKf

so 6% of voters feel that allegations that Corbyn was a spy make them “think better of him.” Well I guess his main weakness was he always came off as slightly boring. https://t.co/NS90AgjU4I

Turkish army terror-bombs civilian convoy of protestors coming to support Afrin. And like clockwork, @jricole appears to try to convince Western liberals it was really a military convoy https://t.co/KCKygGezeJ https://t.co/MxlZ3IKBp2

H of Commons debate Tuesday: Foreign Secretary defends Turkish invasion of Afrin, Shadow FS speaking for LP “unequivocally condemn[s] Turkey for its disgraceful assault on Afrin.” https://t.co/xiG7uYLJGh

the idea that Turkey’s persecution of the Kurdish Democracy Movement or invasion of Afrin is somehow in a different category than anything done by “Western” powers is racist on so many levels it’s hard to even count them all https://t.co/YX5JJRGiSV

Interesting advice for strikers from the Internet support staff at all London unis – use the system! It’s the same one the administrators use. There’s no one maintaining it right now.

okay, can’t help myself: does anyone out there know what “Focaal: Journal of Global and Historical Anthropology” is called “Focaal”? I know two people on the masthead & both say they don’t know.

yes, because Mr. O’Brien at 14 saw the world from an unbiased perspective. Then later he discovered that people would give him lots of money to think the opposite. https://t.co/hCENq9hv98

can someone tell this guy I said they decided not to take up arms themselves, not that they didn’t provide social services! I mean honestly wasn’t that obvious? What’s wrong with some people? https://t.co/girAniFrwf

damn I’m late for Citizens Basic Income day at LSE. I guess I’ll just have to blame Russian spies.

today I learned from @paulmason that I was part of a broad resistance to Postmodernism on the part of the British Left that was one key to it’s rebirth. Good on me! (And Mark & Roy & Terry apparently but what about Hilary and Bev?) https://t.co/UEqCj8FgUo

maybe I should write something about the symbolic significance of Russian spies in Western culture: once an ideological threat to our way of life, now… what? a symbol of the absence of ideological alternative and collapse of our way of life?

I am going to visit a friend. She told me to take the bus and get off at “Mount Pleasant.” I asked why there was a place w such a name in a flat part of London. She said “because it used to be a garbage dump.”

the question I’m asking is: why isn’t the UK hiring more customs agents? Is it? https://t.co/li1C8pco9y

how .@jricole appears to be intentionally trying to deceive his liberal readers about events in Southern Turkey and North Syria https://t.co/HVz2uzGqLa

Hmm, think it’s a reference to something? #justice4grenfell (wasn’t sure about the movie but this is awesome.) https://t.co/MAoVKSOMPr

Mr. Sessions might be interested to learn the word “sheriff” is actually derived from the Arabic “sharif”, since the Normans imported the Arabic system of administration from Norman Sicily https://t.co/w28wiXRFHs

Some friends of mine in Malaysia are trying to create an alternative to their two awful Tweedledum Tweedledee parties https://t.co/msqE2uj2Iq
