@Shoq @lagesvantner Saying many past people pooh-poohed the idea of future inventions tells us nothing about whether 1. the pace of breakthroughs has slowed and why, 2. whether any particular prediction now is plausible, since Napoleon no doubt pooh-poohed other ideas that were, in fact, silly.
