I’m an anthropologist, sometimes I occupy things & such.

I see anarchism as something you do not an identity...

...so don’t call me the anarchist anthropologist

perfect example of bureaucracy, too: if I tried to figure out who’s responsible, and why it happened, I’d get a total run-around

who are these idiots? Some DC venue announced I’d be talking about “how regulation improves our lives” http://t.co/mLhBCX1hHA

Is this a crazy coincidence or might there be some reason – stress or something weakens your defenses?

Doctor says I have food poisoning, hence the two days of excruciating pain. 2nd time in a month. And maybe 3rd time in my life.

we have settled on a title for my piece in the upcoming @thebafflermag clothing issue: “Dickheads: The Paradox of the Necktie Resolved.”

also reveals Labour bigwigs would rather lose the election than see even the slightest, tiniest turn away from right-wing policies

yup, “democracy” now institutionalised bribery. Milland’s biggest funder tells him ‘stop opposing NHS privatisation’ http://t.co/z1ONoq8AcL

you can find all that for cheap, but it takes years… if you buy it all new it’s actually quite expense

I thought “hell Deleuze I can replace for cheap, poetry I can replace, art books are too heavy…” But actually it takes time & knowledge

… but my home library I mostly gave away when I lost my NYC home, except for some of my parents’ & childhood stuff, in storage now

1

I am trying to reassemble my library. Because it gives me a sense of self. I have my office library, that gives a sense of continuity….

there’s the ABC approach: (Acknowledge) I’m glad you asked me that (Bridge) because it reminds more of this totally other thing (Content…)

but honestly, it was true, those were the only two contexts in which the phrase “ethical violations” was ever used

(I thought the Yale anthro resembled the mafia: the only two “ethical” principles ever evoked were loyalty, and “don’t spill the beans”)

so if they ask “what about Syriza” & you say “why are we talking about Syriza?” the next question is still “what about Podemos?”

when newspapers “interview” you by email they send all Qs at once, no follow-up Qs, you can’t change the direction of questioning

7

punditizatiion, a real danger: means constantly being asked to respond instantly to Qs on things u know little about. Forced superficiality

did 4 interviews last week: UK, French, Brazilian, Russian papers… John Summers sagely warms me danger is they turn you into a pundit.

hey look,I’m interviewed in Le Monde. Except behind a paywall. Anyone know what it says? http://t.co/tEDeAFnK7h

spending all week in the studio trying to sound like one of those guys you hear on the radio http://t.co/Q9D7cMkGCh

Many Germans say “forgiving” Greek debt would be rewarding “immoral” behaviour. Funny. Didn’t complain when Nazi debts were forgiven in ’53

I knew Germany had most of its debt forgiven after WW II but I never knew it still owed Greece 11 billion euros for a forced loan in 1944
