A lot of people really don’t understand the concept of freedom of speech. It means if you are a proponent of Nazi race science, your books shouldn’t be banned. I totally agree with that. It doesn’t mean no one can protest if you received an honorary postdoc from Oxford.

In France, and only in France, my BSJ book was on the national bestseller list. I have 2 new books coming out in French that aren’t even coming out in English. The College de France asks me to give talks. Le Monde asks me to do columns. Should I just learn French & move there?
