@monk51295 I just didn’t understand what you were referring to, what the sentence was supposed to mean

@monk51295 well that was the idea of Indymedia; it was huge during the Global Justice Movement, and then suddenly everyone switched to facebook and twitter etc and I for one was horrified

@keirforpm oh shit, I already muted this guy, it just doesn’t happen, anyway, his tweets show up. Maybe I’ll block him then.

@keirforpm I am beginning to come to the conclusion you are some kind of AI experiment, someone tried to make a bot which will take the stupidest political position one could possibly take in any situation. Certainly contributes nothing to any conversation you’re in. Mute.

@monk51295 we need something like indymedia again. All our means of communication are now corporate – twitter included.

@monk51295 well I was trying to be generous and say “provide means of communication” to imply we could actually listen & convey, rather come up with the “correct strategic analysis” and all that sort of disastrous stuff

@kellydanc @SikotiHamiltonR @davidwengrow so yes, your reading was precisely right, the other fellow seems to have been playing the all-too-familiar game of saying “hmm one is an anarchist; what sort of obviously wrong thing do I assume an anarchist WOULD say; now let’s see if I can find evidence that they did say it”

@kellydanc @SikotiHamiltonR @davidwengrow (also that master-of-the-cheapest-possible-shot Turchin) – .@davidwengrow isn’t an anarchist anyway. We were challenging existing teleological accounts & suggesting there might be more possibilities than we normally assume

@kellydanc @SikotiHamiltonR @davidwengrow I’m confused: 1. why does this person think we’ve dismissed all previous scholarship on everything? Huh? We just said there’s a tacit metanarrative underlying a lot of what we assume. 2. we don’t even mention anarchism as a telos, it’s people like Diamond who brought anarchism in

@jwertherpb1 @xanarres Turkey always trundles out a list of supposed acts of terror by the PKK. The court looked into it & was shocked to discover they were unable to produce a single piece of evidence linking the PKK to any of them.

@jwertherpb1 @xanarres the PKK is not a terror group. There have been five different court cases in EU capital Belgium challenging this designation & ever time, the court rules against Turkey & holds that the PKK is not a terror group. Then the gov’t appeals it again

@xanarres @jwertherpb1 actually they did sell them out, they systematically refused to provide them with anti-tank or anti-air defences while providing state of the art tanks and air weaponry to the very forces swearing to wipe them out as soon as allowed to. It was just a natter of time.

@BrscTurk @IwriteOK that’s funny, I was in Manbij a year and a half ago or so; here’s a picture of some of the “fascist terrorists” in charge of the city council https://t.co/L5pHxoylTF

@TweetTropiques I don’t care what you think about. From now on if someone shows up in my timeline to tell me I have to vote for Biden whether I like it or not I just block them immediately.

1

@xanarres @jwertherpb1 The Kurds I know in the region said the Obama people had already approved the Turkish invasion of Afrin and military friends told them it was just a matter of time before the White House would sell them out

1

@TweetTropiques @YoungBitcoin Yeah that’s what they said about Starmer and he was way to the left of Biden. You’re not convincing anyone with this

@xanarres It’s really not that huge a difference. Not that Trump’s policy wasn’t despicable but the idea Obama/Clinton/Biden would have significantly different if they had been there instead is awfully naive

2

@TweetTropiques Bullying people to vote for candidates they detest is a failed strategy. That’s why we have a killer clown as President to begin with. Now you can adopt a new strategy & try to pressure Biden to adopt policies that will win those votes or you can fail again and live with Trump

@MsAppropriation @MaryTracy @avi_khalil You misunderstand the point. You might rely more on social services but if you aren’t middle class you’re constantly made to feel you don’t have a right to it, it’s alien people operating by an alien logic … it’s not by & for people like yourself

@inside_lemon yes you’re right, they not only confuse democracy with rule of law, they also confuse morality with proceduralism.

2

@DogfoxStudios @DominicBoyer @SyksyRasanen mediocrities know institutional power is all they have so they actively defend it

@SirPaulHartley @SyksyRasanen yes it’s part of an institutional structure – that’s why, for instance, University of Chicago, which is not Ivy League, has to make such a huge point of having the most Nobel Prize winners per capita of anyplace on earth…
